Join Us As We Encounter The Power of The Gospel This Lent

Lent is an important season in the Church’s liturgical year — it is the time when we take stock of where we are in our faith so as to prepare for the death and resurrection of our Savior.  Often, we lose sight of the point of this season because we get caught up in ourselves: how hard it is to fast, how we fail at fasting , and just waiting for the season to be over at Easter. Because of this we often arrive at Easter with our lives no more changed than they were on Ash Wednesday.

A way that our parish is seeking to prepare for Jesus and experience true transformation in our lives in this powerful season is by engaging with a new program from Ascension. This program is The Ascension Lenten Companion. This book follows the Gospels for each Sunday of this Lent so we can better prepare for Mass and grow closer to Jesus each day. It has daily meditations, space for journaling , original sacred artwork and weekly videos that we will share via email that keep us on track. Each participant will receive The Ascension Lenten Companion book to accompany him or her throughout the entire Lent season.

This is an opportunity for our whole community to enter into the season of Lent intentionally and receive the grace God is waiting to give us in this holy season. Join us for our parish study this Lent and take full advantage of this transformative experience!

Step 1:   Pick Up Your Lenten Companion Book In The Atrium

The parish has ordered a limited number of books for those that want to participate in the Lenten study.  The books are available on the welcome desk in the atrium under the television.  We are asking that those who take a book consider making a free will offering of $5 to help offset the costs of the books.  Donation envelopes will be available by the books and can be dropped off in the parish dropbox outside of the office door.

Step 2:   Watch Weekly Videos

Fr. Mark Toups has weekly supplemental videos to help us enter more deeply into Lent and remain focused throughout the season.  You can either pull up the weekly videos below or sign up to receive a weekly parish email with the video.
