Join us for The Sanctuary Course for Catholics at St. John’s. It is an eight-part course designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local parishes regarding mental health. It was created in collaboration with Catholic mental health professionals, theologians, and clergy, and offers faith communities the opportunity to learn about mental health and grow in their ability to support members living with mental health challenges. Topics covered include: mental health and mental illness, stigma, recovery, companionship, self-care, and community. The sessions are accompanied by compelling films that feature the stories of Catholics living with mental health challenges, along with the insights of archbishops, theologians, and psychologists. The course is available to download as a PDF, or as an audiobook if you’d prefer to listen rather than read. There is no homework, but it’s recommended that you read/listen to the sessions in advance of meeting.

We will meet on Wednesdays from 7-9pm in the Social Hall starting on December 1st. While this is not group therapy, Courtney Miller from the CSS Immaculate Heart Counseling Center will be there to help facilitate.  If you’d like to register or if you have questions, please contact Amber at 402-525-6827 or [email protected]
